An Empower alternative for tracking your net worth (2026)
Empower’s Personal Dashboard (formerly Personal Capital) tracks your net worth for free and offers an advisory service beside it. If you want your net worth and the next twelve months in one place, this is what each app does today.
Checked on against Empower’s own pricing and help pages, and reviews where those didn’t say, linked under each answer. Prices and features change; follow the links before you decide. We make RichDue, so weigh our column accordingly.
Empower and RichDue, side by side
| Empower | RichDue | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | The Personal Dashboard is free. The advisory service, Personal Strategy, starts at $100,000 and charges 0.89% a year from $100,000 to $999,999, with lower rates above that; ETF expense ratios are extra. | Free to start, no card. Pro is $89.99 a year or $12.99 a month; your first statement import adds 14 days of Pro. |
| Bank sync | Links accounts through Yodlee’s Fastlink, with OAuth at some institutions. Manual accounts hold things like a home and are updated by hand. | No bank sync today. You add screenshots or bank alerts on iPhone, statements (CSV, Excel, OFX/QFX, QIF, PDF) or a quick log; RichDue reads them, flags rows it already has and asks before saving. |
| Platforms | iPhone, Android and the web. An older help article lists some views, such as investment performance, on the web only. | Web today. The iPhone app is in testing and uses the same account. |
| Budgets | A budgeting widget compares your last 30 days of spending with a monthly budget you can edit, by category, beside a Cash Flow graph. Its help says specific budgeting goals can’t be set. | A monthly limit per spending category, paced against an even month and suggested from your last three months. No envelopes. |
| Planning ahead | A free Retirement Planner projects your savings, income sources, spending goals and retirement readiness, with a Savings Planner beside it. Its tools page lists no month-by-month cash-flow forecast. | A 12-month cash-flow projection with low, base and high cases, built from salary, bonus, RSU, commission and client income, with the dates each one lands. |
| Investments | Holdings, a Retirement Fee Analyzer and an Investment Checkup (your risk level and where your money is invested), all on the free dashboard. | Stocks and funds, crypto, gold, property, savings and loans: allocation and value over time. You log a buy or a sale or import your brokerage’s positions. No benchmarks or advice. |
| Privacy | Empower says it doesn’t share your personal information with third parties for money, and that some cookies and pixels may count as a sale or share under state law, with an opt-out. Its policy says it may call or text you to recommend services, and you can ask for its Do Not Call list. | No bank credentials. iPhone screenshots are read on your device, statement files are deleted 7 days after upload, and RichDue doesn’t sell your data or share it for advertising. |
The dashboard and the advisory service
Empower’s policy lists calling or texting you to recommend its services. Independent reviews report advisor calls once linked balances pass about $100,000.
Wealth Management starts at $250,000 and Private Client at $1 million.
History comes from linked accounts: Empower’s help says historical data can’t be imported from Excel or other documents.
When you want your net worth and where it’s heading
RichDue’s Dashboard opens on your net worth today, from the accounts you add: checking and cards, stocks and funds, crypto, gold, property, savings and loans, each with its value over time.
Then it looks a year ahead rather than to retirement: a 12-month cash-flow projection with low, base and high cases from your salary, bonus, RSU vests, commission or clients, so you see December before you get there.
RichDue has no advisory service; Pro is the one thing it sells. It doesn’t connect to banks today: balances and transactions come from statements, iPhone screenshots, bank alerts or a quick update, and RichDue asks before saving anything.
Who should stay with Empower
Stay with Empower if you want the dashboard and its retirement planner for free, accounts that update through Yodlee on their own, or an advisor managing your investments. Its fee analyzer and Investment Checkup are free as well.
Bringing your history across
Empower exports transactions as CSV on the web: Overview › Transactions, then the CSV button, for the dates and tab you have open. In the mobile app, export is on iPhone.
In RichDue, add that file on the web: it reads the columns, flags rows it already has and shows you everything before saving. Your bank’s own export works the same way; the export guides show where each bank keeps it.
