A Rocket Money alternative that plans the year ahead (2026)
Rocket Money tracks your subscriptions and bills and can cancel or negotiate them for you. If you want the next twelve months of pay and spending planned as well, this is what each app does today.
Checked on against Rocket Money’s own pricing and help pages, and reviews where those didn’t say, linked under each answer. Prices and features change; follow the links before you decide. We make RichDue, so weigh our column accordingly.
Rocket Money and RichDue, side by side
| Rocket Money | RichDue | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | The core app is free. Premium is pay-what-you-choose, typically $7 to $14 a month, with a 7-day free trial; Premium+ is $15 a month. | Free to start, no card. Pro is $89.99 a year or $12.99 a month; your first statement import adds 14 days of Pro. |
| Bank sync | Connects accounts through Plaid. Manual entry covers Net Worth assets and debts (on Premium, in the mobile app), as balances without transactions. | No bank sync today. You add screenshots or bank alerts on iPhone, statements (CSV, Excel, OFX/QFX, QIF, PDF) or a quick log; RichDue reads them, flags rows it already has and asks before saving. |
| Platforms | iPhone and Android. Premium members can also use it in a browser at rocketmoney.com. | Web today. The iPhone app is in testing and uses the same account. |
| Budgets | Category budgets with custom categories. Its FAQ lists two budgets on the free plan; its help center lists budgets under Premium and Premium+. | A monthly limit per spending category, paced against an even month and suggested from your last three months. No envelopes. |
| Planning ahead | Upcoming bills on the free plan and a bill timeline on paid plans. Its pricing page lists no projection of balances or net worth. | A 12-month cash-flow projection with low, base and high cases, built from salary, bonus, RSU, commission and client income, with the dates each one lands. |
| Investments | Linked brokerage, retirement, 529 and crypto accounts count toward net worth, a Premium view. Rocket Money’s own roundup of budgeting apps lists its investment tracking among the cons. | Stocks and funds, crypto, gold, property, savings and loans: allocation and value over time. You log a buy or a sale or import your brokerage’s positions. No benchmarks or advice. |
| Privacy | Its security page says Rocket Money doesn’t sell your data. Its privacy notice says it shares with affiliates who may market to you, with no opt-out under federal law, and does joint marketing with other financial companies. | No bank credentials. iPhone screenshots are read on your device, statement files are deleted 7 days after upload, and RichDue doesn’t sell your data or share it for advertising. |
Subscriptions and bills at Rocket Money
Having Rocket Money cancel a subscription for you (“Cancel This For Me”) is a Premium feature; on the free plan you see your subscriptions and cancel them yourself.
Bill negotiation has cost 35% to 60% of the first year’s savings, charged only when it works. From November 2, 2026 it is part of Premium+, with no negotiation fee for one started after that date.
There is no CSV or OFX statement import. Single transactions can be added by hand on Premium, in the mobile app.
When you want the year planned, not only the bills
RichDue starts from your pay: salary, a bonus, RSU vests, commission or clients, each on its own schedule. From those it draws a 12-month projection with low, base and high cases, and says what the next bonus or vest does to the year before it lands.
Bills are part of that picture. A row filed under Subscriptions becomes a recurring item from its first charge, and Coming up lists what’s due with what to keep aside. RichDue doesn’t cancel subscriptions or negotiate bills for you.
RichDue doesn’t connect to banks today. Money gets in through statements, iPhone screenshots, bank alerts or a quick log, and RichDue asks before saving anything.
Who should stay with Rocket Money
Stay with Rocket Money if you want someone to cancel subscriptions or negotiate bills for you, or if you want your accounts linked through Plaid and updated on their own. Its core app is free, and it has an Android app today.
Bringing your history across
Rocket Money exports transactions as CSV on Premium: in the app from Transactions, or on the web from Transactions › Export, which emails you a link to open on a computer.
In RichDue, add that file on the web: it reads the columns, flags rows it already has and shows you everything before saving. Your bank’s own export works the same way; the export guides show where each bank keeps it.
